Hazelnut was adopted from a pet store with Cashew and Peanut as part of the "Nut Gang". Thor originally went to the store to adopt Peanut as she has Waardenburg Syndrome [1] . Once Thor arrived at the store, he realized that Hazel ALSO had Waardenburgs and needed rescuing. She is also fully deaf as a result of her condition.
